In September 2014 my good friend and coworker John Galvin was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He confided in me, seeking out advice on the benefits to using cannabis to alleviate the awful side effects brought on by his chemotherapy. In 2012, 63% of MA voters voted to legalize cannabis for medicinal purposes. At the time of his passing in 2015, there was still no access to legal cannabis in Massachusetts.
